At the Hunter Memorial Foundation, we believe in the betterment of our community. By doing so, we provide the basic needs and volunteer assistance in hopes of having a positive impact on the community. Because of this, we have the privilege to collaborate with other nonprofits and make new friends.
Coat Drive at Avondale Center
HMF has been working in conjunction with The Forgotten Child Fund, the Chattanooga Police Department, the Chattanooga Furniture Bank (Goodwill Industries), Representative Danny Ayala, Councilman Anthony Byrd, Mayor Burke’s Homeless Task Force, and Representative Stacy Kehoe since December 2020 to provide free coats to those in the Chattanooga community.
Previous Projects
- October 2021- Supported and volunteered at the Pre-Veterans Appreciation Day hosted by Chattanooga Opportunity Center at the Chattanooga Convention Center
- August 2021- Guest speaker alongside David Carroll at Saint Peter's Episcopal Church (Pastor Quinn Parman) ratifying the 1 World, 1 Voice mission of being kind and the importance of diversity.
- In addition, the HMF hosted a United Way Week of Caring in October of 2020, and we provided Thanksgiving Meals at Standifer Place Assisted Living that November.
- Encouragement Phone Line 24/7 no cost telephone call with a pre-recorded message designed to encourage others
- April 2020- HCS Feeding Program in partnership with the YMCA. We ensured that our community’s youth have meals to eat
- March 2020- HMF Market Research Survey. We identified and assessed the beliefs, opinions, and preferences of Chattanooga residents toward the future mural project
- Glass Street Live (2019), and Bring the Street Back to Life through fun, food, and community (Nov. 2019, 2018, 2017)
- Minority Health Fair (Aug. 2018, and 2017)
